I am simply a ‘book drunkard.’ Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.
Me: *has to be forcibly restrained when walking past a book shop*
I can’t believe that books can make me cry. You are made of glue and paper. How dare you have this power over me.
Knowing I lov’d my books, he furnish’d me
From mine own library with volumes that
I prize above my dukedom.
Second hand books are wild books, homeless books; they have come together in vast flocks of variegated feather, and have a charm which the domesticated volumes of the library lack.

Thank you, @scarvenartist !
1. Are you named after anyone?
I don’t believe so! Recently, my father mentioned that his favorite writer shares my first name, but I don’t know that she was even writing twenty-odd years ago.
2. When was the last time you cried?
Monday. Involved a dog + pent-up life stress. Better not to ask.
3. Do you have/want kids?
I’d definitely like some, hopefully in the not too-far-flung future.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I don’t actually speak English, I speak Sarcasm, without overtones of Teasing.
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
No idea. Whatever it is must be subconscious, but I do see people and kind of go “that one,” sometimes before we’ve even been introduced, and then trick them into staying in my life for years.
6. What’s your eye color?
Hazel.
7. Scary movie or happy ending?
Hate scary movies.
8. Any special talents?
I can make onion rings and fried ice cream?
9. Where were you born?
Boston, MA.
10. What are your hobbies?
Dancing in the car, singing too loudly, occasionally deciding to scrap my current life and become Julia Child for an evening.
11. Do you have any pets?
No. I’ve had fish off-and-on, but I get too upset when they die.
12. What sports do you play/have you played?
Uh…. dance, if you count that as a sport; gymnastics; karate; swimming; softball; walking is not a sport, but getting lost in the countryside is my current physical activity of choice.
13. How tall are you?
5’7ish.
14. Favorite subject in school?
English.
15. Dream job?
Author. I have some kids, sometimes teach, give occasional readings and/or lectures, maybe do some casual photography. I miraculously have enough money to own an apartment in a city and a cottage by the sea.
Tagging @isfjmel-phleg @pemberlaey @peanutdaze @thiswaitingheart though, obviously, no pressure!
